Royal Navy High Mountain Based Training
The RNHMBT is a week long course held near Aviemore in the Scotish highlands.
Practising fall arrest drills
Personnel from Taurus Squadron joined other members of DTUS to attend the RNHMBT. The week was focused on developing Core Military Skills by mountaineering in Scottish Winter conditions. Participants completed a number of 1 day routes, using ice axes and crampons for some elements as well as a 2 day expedition using snow shoes. The night was spent in snow holes.
